This site provides the gene annotation set based on the
whole genome shotgun (WGS) assembly CanFam2.0,
which was sequenced and assembled by the Broad Institute of
MIT/Harvard.The assembly was released in May 2005.
For more information, see Lindblad-Toh, K, et al. (2005). Genome sequence, comparative analysis and haplotype structure of the domestic dog. Nature 438, 803-819.
The gene build was run via a reasonably standard Ensembl mammalian pipeline, modifed to make optimal choices of source proteins for each gene. This analysis gives 22874 genes with 29128 transcripts.
